FAQ — Fixtures

Specifications, installation, control, and durability — key technical details for LEDCTRL fixture ranges.

  • BXG grazers are available in 10º, 15º, 25º, 40º, 60º, 10ºx35º, 10ºx60º, 30ºx60º, 20ºx40º, elliptical beam options.
  • Each optic is precision-moulded for even wall illumination and controlled spill.

  • Static whites: 2200 K – 6500 K.
  • Dynamic: RGB, RGBW, RGBA, and tunable white (2700–6500 K) across most ranges.
  • Factory calibration ensures smooth colour blending and repeatable CCTs between batches.

  • Horizontal bend radius: typically ≥ 120 mm; vertical bend versions have similar limits.
  • Factory end-caps and field kits maintain the IP rating at terminations and joins.

  • Our ranges use DMX constant-current or constant-voltage drivers.
  • FXN, Flex Mesh, and pixel-based ranges operate on SPI via PX/SX/CX controllers.
  • Static white or tunable versions support 0–10 V or DALI dimming on request.

  • Most exterior fixtures are rated up to IP66, IP67, IP68 / IK07, IK08 for outdoor use.
  • Coastal environments should specify marine anodised or powder-coated finishes with UV-stable lenses.
  • Fully sealed neon and mesh variants reach IP67 – IP68 for immersion or high-moisture zones.

  • Standard housings: Aluminium Housing with custom RAL.

  • Typical operating range: -20 °C – +55 °C ambient.
  • High-output models may reduce brightness above +45 °C to preserve LED life.
  • Ensure adequate thermal coupling to mounting surfaces in enclosed spaces.

  • Standard warranty: 3 years for interior, 5 years for exterior-rated fixtures.
  • Extended warranty (up to 7 years) available for large-scale or maintenance contracts.

APPLICATIONS

Australia Square, one of Sydney’s most iconic commercial towers designed by Harry Seidler, underwent a striking façade lighting upgrade in 2023. The project aimed to highlight the building’s clean vertical geometry while reinforcing its landmark presence within the city skyline.

  • Location: Australia Square Tower, Sydney CBD.
  • Fixture Used: BXG24 Grazer Series — high-output architectural grazers with tight beam control.
  • Design Intent: To emphasise the tower’s rhythmic vertical lines without spill light or glare.
  • Outcome:
    • Uniform illumination across the façade’s vertical columns.
    • Enhanced night-time presence while maintaining architectural purity.
    • Improved energy efficiency and controllability via LEDCTRL hardware.
  • Key Benefits:
    • Precise optical control and colour consistency across all elevations.
    • Low-maintenance, high-durability housing rated for outdoor use.
    • Dynamic colour tuning capabilities for special events.

Meriton Residential Tower — LXB Linear Bars on the Parramatta façade

In 2025, LEDCTRL deployed its LXB Linear Bars on the Meriton residential tower façade in Parramatta’s CBD, delivering a bold and dynamic lighting solution across the skyline.

The installation featured 385 metres of continuous LED linear profile driven seamlessly by just two PX24 controllers.

The result was a uniform, glare-free wash across 12 storeys, programmed with dynamic colour sequences to reflect building identity and local event themes. With OTA firmware updates and centralised web-based control, the system delivers both reliability and scalability for future expansion.

  • Location: Parramatta, Sydney, NSW.
  • Product Used: LXB Linear Bar.
  • Range: LX Linear Range.
  • Year: 2025.

In 2023, the Burnley Tunnel in Melbourne underwent a significant lighting upgrade to enhance safety, visibility, and the overall driver experience. The project aimed to provide uniform illumination while introducing dynamic visual elements that reduce driver fatigue in one of the city’s busiest tunnels.

LEDCTRL’s BXG80 Grazer Series was specified for its high output and precise beam control, ensuring consistent light distribution across tunnel walls. The system not only improves functional lighting but also creates a visually engaging transit environment for thousands of commuters daily.

  • Product Used: BXG80
  • Range: BXG Grazer Series
  • Year: 2023
  • Location: Melbourne, VIC
